What is a cleaning mop?

A mop (or mop head) is a replaceable attachment for a specialized flat-head mop frame. It is used for both wet and dry cleaning of floors, walls, and other surfaces. Mops effectively absorb moisture, quickly collect dirt and dust, and are made from both natural and synthetic materials. Thanks to the flat-head design, these mops easily reach even the most inaccessible spots, offer great maneuverability, and allow for effortless wringing. They are often color-coded for use in areas with different functional purposes.

The primary materials used for mop heads are:

• Cotton – a natural and eco-friendly material. Cotton mops absorb a significant amount of water and are heat-resistant, making them ideal for deep cleaning and scrubbing heavily soiled surfaces.
• Microfiber – a synthetic material made of polyester and polyamide. Microfiber mops excel at trapping dirt without leaving streaks, making them perfect for cleaning hardwood, laminate, ceramic tile, and natural stone.
• Viscose – a synthetic material that provides excellent absorption properties.
• Acrylic – most used for dry dusting and floor polishing.

The main types of mops based on their attachment method include:
